In town for the 12/13 UK vs. Indiana game bar/food advice?

What%26#39;s the best place to go before the game (sports bar, etc)?

What%26#39;s a good place to grab a steak after the game?

Any bars with live blues or rock downtown near the Hyatt?

Thanks for your help!

In town for the 12/13 UK vs. Indiana game bar/food advice?

There are tons of places in the immediate vicinity of Rupp Arena, and all of them will be crowded before the game. Cheapside and Bluegrass Tavern next to the old courthouse, Hugo%26#39;s and McCarthy%26#39;s Irish Bar on Upper, Yesterday%26#39;s in the Lexington Center, Brooklyn Sports Bar (and several new bars) in the Victorian Square, and Sawyer%26#39;s in the Festival Market Building. Pedways connect a lot of these places.

As for a steak after the game, if you stay downtown DeShae%26#39;s would be good, though undoubtedly crowded. Other good places with walking distance are Dudley%26#39;s on Maxwell Steet and Jonathan%26#39;s at the Gratz Park Inn.

If you leave downtown to get dinner, try Malone%26#39;s on Tates Creek Road in the Lansdowne Shops.

I%26#39;m not big on live music, but there is usually a band at Cheapside in the evenings.

That could be one UGLY basketball game.
