One Day in Louisville

We will be in Louisville on Friday March 6, for one day only. What suggestions do you have for us to see and a good/fun place for lunch and/or dinner? We are a family of 4 including my 16 yr old son and 13 yr old daughter.

One Day in Louisville

Lunch or dinner at Lynn%26#39;s Paradise Cafe. The kids will like all the kitchy decorations. The adults will like the food. http://www.lynnsparadisecafe.com/

A tour of the Louisville Slugger Factory located downtown.

While you%26#39;re downtown, you should do a walk through of the lobby at The 21C Hotel. They have a constantly changing contemperary art display that%26#39;s open to the public and free. Several of the art installations are interactive. The kids will enjoy them. http://www.21cmuseum.org/museum/default.aspx

Churchill Downs won%26#39;t be running at that time, but The Kentucky Derby Museum will be open. I understand it%26#39;s really good.

You could also take a ride on the Bell of Louisville if it%26#39;s running at that time.

Waterfront Park has bicycle rentals and bike paths.

Louisville Slugger Field is a great place to see a baseball game if there%26#39;s a home game that evening. They usually start around 7pm. It sits at the far end of Waterfront Park.

Right around the corner from Slugger Field is the Louisville Skate Park if your kids are into skateboarding. It%26#39;s one of the largest in the country I believe.

One Day in Louisville

I forgot to mention to check out the Go Lists on this site for Louisville. The sites I mentioned were just off the top of my head. There%26#39;s a lot more to see %26amp; do depending upon your interests.

Also let us know what price range %26amp; type of food you%26#39;re looking for and we%26#39;ll give you more specific restaurant recommendations. Louisville has many great dining options.

March could be really cold...or not! Do check the golists as many links are in there. The Belle only runs May-October.

Thanks! March will be really warm compared to what we are in right now. Yesterday morning we woke up to -25 temps (-40 with windchill) and this morning it was -32 (close to -45 with windchill).
