Trying to plan a quick beach getaway for the kiddos this summer. What is the closest beach in driving distance to Lexington?

If you mean an ocean beach, it would probably Myrtle Beach, SC - but that%26#39;s a 9 1/2 hr. drive. If a lake beach would work, we have several in the LBL area of West KY - which would be about 4 hours from you. There may be state parks closer to you that would also have beaches, but I%26#39;m not familiar with which ones they%26#39;d be.

Destin Fl is about 10 hrs. imo it%26#39;s much nicer than Myrtle Beach.

Actually, the closest ocean beach is the Isle of Palms near Charleston,, S.C. Its about 7 1/2 to 8 hours away. Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach are about 9 hours. We like to go to Seagrove Beach, Florida, which is between Destin and Panama City. 10 hour drive. Seagrove, and all of South Walton County, Florida, are great.
