Land Between the Lakes activities?

What are the three or four best things to do in the summer season? We are a small group of mature, active women. We don%26#39;t fish.

Drive through the Elk and Bison Prairie. Early morning or evening is the best time for that, unless it%26#39;s a nice cool cloudy day. The Golden Pond Visitor Center is very interesting, and there%26#39;s a planetarium there with some great shows. If you%26#39;d like a beach, they%26#39;re available at the state parks - Kenlake, Ky Dam Village, or Lake Barkley SP. Visit nearby Cadiz - many antique stores, and a great little farmers market on Weds. and Sat. mornings. For the best meal in the area, and some other interesting things, don%26#39;t miss Patti%26#39;s in Grand Rivers. (Cadiz also has some great home-cooking type of restaurants) As you drive down the trace, take some of the better side-roads to the lakes for some great views. Homeplace 1850 toward the south end could be visited more than once. You should be able to check out their activity schedule at www.lbl.org - and that site will also give you other ideas of what to do. Don%26#39;t hesitate to contact me if you have further questions.

Hello,

Would like to know if there are small sailboats available for rental? Sun fish, Force 5, Lasers?

Like the one or two person sailboats at camp?

Thanks

If so, I%26#39;ve never seen them. Kenlake Marina has other types of boats to rent www.kenlakemarina.com/boat_rentals.html You could also try http://www.greenturtlebay.com/rental.htm

Would you have knowledge and recommendations for RV campgrounds? We will be taking MIL to visit with her sister in Owensboro in June and plan to spend the time at LBL.

Do you need hookups? If not I can recommend LOTS of fantastic, park-by-the-water primitive campgrounds. If you must have hookups, Canal (COE) Campground is at the north end. They had LOTS of ice storm damage and won%26#39;t be opening before June 1st (and possibly later). Going down the trace there is Hillman Ferry, near the center is Energy Lake and towards the south end of the Trace (close to the Homeplace 1850 in TN) is Rushing Creek CG. These last 3 are Forest Service CG%26#39;s. I%26#39;d definitely recommend reservations at Canal since it%26#39;s the closest to I-24, but you ';may'; be ok without reservations at the other places. Feel free to yell at me if you want further info.
