thrifting/yard sale tips from locals

Several of us girls from the sticks will be in Lex.for a weekend soon, and invite the challlenge of finding ';the good stuff'; cheap at consignment shops and tag/yard sales. Any suggestions from locals? Will check the H-L for yard sale listings, and have had success at the Goodwill on Limestone/New Circle in the past. Thanks in advance!

I don%26#39;t really have any good tips, except the Southland Drive area and the surrounding neighborhoods sometimes have good sales. There is a Re-Store (Habitat for Humanity) place that I think is on Southland and you can find some great deals on home things in there sometimes.

For clothing; Plato%26#39;s Closet in Zandale Shopping Center on Nicholasville Road is good. They have name brand clothing for mostly the younger crowd (Abercrombie, American Eagle, etc), but also have purses, shoes, and men%26#39;s clothing. I once bought a pair of Steve Madden wedges that had never been worn for $8.00. Next door to Plato%26#39;s Closet is also Once Upon a Child which sells bargain baby/toddler items.

Also, there is Salvation Army on New Circle Road, and don%26#39;t forget to check out some of the other Goodwill stores; I prefer the Heartland Parkway location.

Have a great time %26amp; happy shopping!

Thanks for the suggestions--we had a wonderful weekend in Lexington.
