Driving Route from Chicago

Heading down your way in late March, driving from Chicago. In the past, I%26#39;ve driven past Indy, to Louisville, then over to Lexington. Now Mapquest is telling me to go to from Indy to Cinci area, then down to Lexington. Per Mapquest, the difference is maybe just a few miles and minutes. Any opinions as to which route is preferable?

Driving Route from Chicago

Whenever I make the trip to chicago I almost always go through Louisville and Indy.

I always go through Louisville, too. Traffic around Cinci can be pretty bad.

Definitely through Louisville.

Just to add to the others...I have always gone through Louisville also. I cannot think of anyone that does Cincy.

There isn%26#39;t a tremendous difference in time between the Indy/Louisville route and the Indy/Cincy route. My sister lives in Carmel, IN and I vary which route I take (depending on if I want to hit the outlets in Edinburgh, IN) and it does save a little time getting to her house to go through Cincinnati because I-74 dumps you out a little farther north on 465. However, there is some construction on I-75 in NKY that can slow you down, so I generally prefer the Louisville route.

Thanks everyone.
