Valentine's Weekend in Louisville

Coming down from Cincy on Friday night to spend a couple nights at 21C. Looking for dinner spots for Friday and Saturday night. Not fine dining--I don%26#39;t want to dress--but not a chain either. I want to wear jeans and a sweater. Good local food in a more casual atmosphere. Bardstown Rd and downtown are the two ares most familiar to us, but we can go anywhere.

Cunninghams comes to mind on 4th street. Very casual, good burgers, steak fries, and full bar.

Somthing alittle different is Flabbys on Lydia Steet, good food in a neighborhood atmosphere.

Well, Shari, except for just a handful of places, I think you%26#39;d be fine dressed casually in many places. This is going to be a really busy weekend and you might want to try to get reservations! I went to www.opentable.com and plugged in table for 2 on Feb 14. I got a handful of good places! I suggest you go over there and join. It is free and you get points every time you book. In fact, I just got a $40 gift certificate from them which I used yesterday.

They show availability at Baxter Station (I love this place!!) North End Cafe (ditto) the tasty Pajermo Viello. I also really like Avalon in the Highlands, Artemesia on Main Street and Jarfi%26#39;s Bistro on Bardstown Rd. Varanese is very good and casual, with jazz music on the weekends. I also like Cafe Lou Lou...there%26#39;s a new one in the Highlands. We ate there yesterday and it was great.

Again, I URGE you to make a reservation! Opentable has links to all the web sites and menus for the places as well. Do some research and come prepeared! I hope you have a great time!

ps...check my todo list for Louisville. Several of us have written them and they might help you.

Mmmmm....I second Linda%26#39;s rec of Cafe Lou Lou. I ate there last week and it was excellent. Also, Havana Rumba is good, if you like Cuban, and I had a really good meal at Lynn%26#39;s Paradise Cafe last week, too.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I use OpenTable often Linda, so I booked Avalon for Friday night and Jarfi%26#39;s for Saturday. Cafe Lou Lou looked like it would be good for lunch also, we may get a meal in there as well.
