Rental Car from SDF

I will be renting a car for a week- I have AAA. I%26#39;m being quoted around $25/ day. This seems quite high- I%26#39;ve compared Orbitz, AAA and the rental car companies directly. Any other way to know of specials going on?

I recently rented a car for one week and saved about 125 dollars for the week using Hotwire vs. the AAA rate. I had never used a service like that before but everything went fine. I had to pay up front and I am not sure if you can cancel the reservation. The car ended up coming from national car rental. I have rented from them before and could tell no difference with using Hotwire.com.

$25 a day is not bad. Corporate rates are usually better than AAA, but even with that I was usually at $35/day with a midsize at most airports.

Also note if you will be there the end of April through the first weekend in May you are hitting the Kentucky Derby Festival (and race).

I usually start with www.kayak.com It searches all the places for special deals.

However, my great ';special'; deal through Dollar in Sacramento was a wash. There were at least 30 people lined up, one person working the desk while the other counters were empty. We decided to negotiate with Alamo rather than wait in line for an hour!
