Kentuck Derby '09 + RV Parking

Hello.

We%26#39;re going to Louisville for Kentuck Derby weekend. We%26#39;re driving an RV. Any recommendations as to where to park for the weekend?

Also, what are the best sources to get infield tickets?

You can walk up and purchase infield tickets at the gate as you enter. I%26#39;ve never heard of them selling out.

I%26#39;m not sure about where to park an RV. Several ideas....

You could check with the Kentucky Exposition Center which is reasonably walkable from Churchill Downs. I think they also do shuttles from there to the Derby %26amp; Oaks. Note: It%26#39;s in a fairly industrial area of town so you wouldn%26#39;t be that close to restaurants %26amp; shops. http://www.kyfairexpo.org/

I%26#39;ve heard that all Wal-Marts allow RV parking in their parking lots. The ';Bashford Manor'; Wal-Mart on Bardstown Rd. would probably be the closest to the track. And it%26#39;s only a few miles from all the restaurants %26amp; shops in the Bardstown Rd/Highlands area.

My husband also just mentioned that there%26#39;s an RV park near either the ';Brooks'; or ';Shephardsville'; exit on I-65 about 10 miles south of Louisville.

...and if all else fails, you might contact the Louisville Visitor%26#39;s Center.

Some individual homeowners near the track,rent out spaces. But I%26#39;m not sure how to get in touch with someone.I%26#39;m wondering if the Visitors Burea could help.

There is a KOA campground in Clarksville, right across the bridge. 10 min from Churchill. Near Lakeside maroitt.

If you get here on Thursday, you can easily find a spot on the streets around the track. I%26#39;ve seen people do that and plug into a house close by (with permission) for a few dollars. The Ky Fair and Exposition Center has hook-ups and rents spaces. With the easy bus shuttle to and from, that may be the best.

Anyone heard about Expo Five Expo Dome, here is the site. We are RVing out there too and were thinking about this place but not sure
