Hotel with easy access to I-65 or I-64?

Louisville is our overnight stopping point for a trip between Chicago and Gatlinburg, TN. We will only be there one night, basically just to sleep and grab some breakfast in the morning. Can anyone recommend a simple, clean hotel with easy interstate access? Any input is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hi there. You will be coming down I65 and merging on to I 64 towards Lexington. There are several hotels off the Hurstbourne Lane exit, however that area is quite congested. However, there%26#39;s a Bob Evans and Waffle House and other places. The two hotels I would suggest are the Holiday Inn Hurstbourne lane and the Courtyard by Marriott.

I think your best alternative is to drive another 3 miles to Blankenbaker Parkway. There are several places there including the Hilton Garden Inn and a Holiday Inn Express. There are places to eat which you can reach easily on the main drag. Best of luck!

Oh...one more thing....do not drive to Gatlinburg through Pigeon Forge! You will sit in horrible traffic. Go around the beltway and take the road from east to west. Nice road, no traffic.

Thanks so much! I had my eye on the Hilton Garden Inn, so I think I%26#39;ve made my decision.

Also, thanks for the tip about Pigeon Forge! I%26#39;m not exactly sure which road you are saying we should take from east to west? Google maps has us taking I-40 east from Knoxville and then taking TN-66 south right through Pigeon Forge. How do we avoid that?

We took 329, then 321 in. I know it looks longer, but the road through Pigeon Forge is one stoplight after another with bumper to bumper traffic. Plan on adding an extra hour just sitting. We%26#39;ve been there 4 times in the last 8 years and we learned this trick.

Thanks Linda. From the map I%26#39;m looking at it seems like 321 takes you right into Pigeon Forge...

We stayed at that Hilton Garden Inn back in November and it was nice. Very clean, friendly staff, etc. I think it will be fine for what you need.
