We%26#39;ll be in KY next weekend for a conference at Freedom Hall. I went to UofL but its been 20 yrs.
Looking for advice for lunch %26amp; dinner - specifically in the Bardstown Rd area for a late dinner Sat night and I%26#39;m thinking about lunch at Lynn%26#39;s Paradise Cafe.
We%26#39;re not into the bar scene, just a nice dinner or a cafe for coffee. Also, I%26#39;m wondering about an early dinner downtown before the conference starts on Friday night. Also, any shopping ideas?

For Sat. dinner, you might try Cafe Lou Lou%26#39;s new location at Douglass Loop. 2216 Dundee Rd
Their website only references the Sears Ave. location, but the new location has been open for a few months. It has the same menu.

While not downtown exactly, there are a couple of good options in Old Louisville. Which would be an easy drive to Freedom Hall.
The Third Avenue Cafe

or

Closer to downtown (on Swan St.) is The Come Back Inn. http://comebackinn.biz/index.html

Bardstown road is full of yummy bites. Here are a few of my favorites.
Latin/Cuban: Seviche
Indian: Kashmir
Sushi: Sapporo
South American: Palermo Viejo
Everything you can think of: Ramsi%26#39;s
Irish/Bar scene: Molly Malone
';Louisville';: Bristol
Late night: Karma Cafe
Lynn%26#39;s is always a good idea for breakfast, lunch. or dinner.
For a casual early dinner downtown, Saffron%26#39;s Persian Restaurant and Bistro 301 are pretty good. If you want something more fancy, Morton%26#39;s or Jeff Ruby%26#39;s would also be an option.
Thanks for your help! One last question.....
We are planning on spending Sat afternoon on Bardstown Rd doing some shopping. We%26#39;d like a light lunch on Saturday (salad/soup) - do you have any recommendations? Then our plan is to shop %26amp; grab an early dinner at Uptown Cafe. Thanks for your help!
Try The City Cafe located on the backside of Mid-City Mall (next to the cinemas).

There%26#39;s also a Just Fresh Bakery across the street from Mid-City Mall (it%26#39;s more of a chain)

Stevens %26amp; Steven%26#39;s Deli (located behind Ditto%26#39;s Restaurant - in the same building)

Another really good option would be The Cafe on Brent St. Not on Bardstown Rd, but only a mile or two away (near Louisville Stoneware).
