Which Belle ?

We are planning our first trip to Louisville for the Derby. The Great Steamboat Race sounds great, but which Belle?

The Belle of Louisville is $126.00

The Belle of Cincinnati is $60.00

Any advice and other suggestions are MOST welcome! Thanks.

Which Belle ?

Belle of Louisville is a lot of fun and it is the flagship race boat now that the Delta Queen turned into a hotel. If Masterson%26#39;s is catering, I would say do the Belle of Louisville. If not, forget it - the other caterer they use is yuck city.

Personally, I would not bother with either Belle. Spend $30 and watch the race from the Wine Festival instead!

Which Belle ?

Greetings! I am partial to the Belle of Louisville because I am one of the two calliope players. However, I won%26#39;t be playing for that event. The race itself isn%26#39;t very exciting, but the event gives people yet another reason to drink and party! You will have fun on the boat, it%26#39;s very festive and crowded. In the past, when there%26#39;s lousy weather, the parties on the river aren%26#39;t so much fun, but they still have fun on the boat.

I agree that it is more fun to stay on shore and watch the races. Went on the Belle of Louisville one year. The food was pretty good but I felt trapped the entire time.

If you%26#39;re like me and like to go where the fun is, I recommend one of the restaurants or packing a picnic and hanging out at Waterfront Park, then heading out to the Highlands or Frankfort Avenue for dinner %26amp;/or drinks!
